STEM Mavericks offers a dynamic introduction to engineering, programming, and AI, aiming to ignite students' passions and guide them toward exciting, technology-driven careers. 

 

Overview

STEM Mavericks is a two-week summer camp designed for students in grades 10-12. Students will have access to STEM kits containing all necessary hardware and software during the camp. After the camp, each student will receive their own STEM kit to continue advancing their STEM skills and exploring career pathways in technology. 

DISCLAIMER: STEM Mavericks Camp is subject to final funding confirmation. Applicants will be notified as updates become available.

Camp Details

Who: STEM Mavericks is open to all students who have completed grades 10-12 by June 2026.

When: STEM Mavericks runs Monday-Friday, June 1-12, 2026, from 12:00-5:00 pm. Participants are expected to attend all program sessions.

Where: STEM Mavericks will meet in-person on the NMSU Main Campus. Exact location and directions will be shared with accepted participants.

Cost: STEM Mavericks is FREE for participants. Participants who successfully complete the program may receive a stipend, depending on the available funding.

Transportation: Participants must provide their own transportation to and from NMSU.

Food: Lunch and snacks will be provided for participants. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know on the application form and we will do our best to accommodate you. Participants with special dietary needs are also welcome to bring their own snacks and/or lunch.

    Preparing students for real-life applications

Guest Speakers and Field Trips

Explore real STEM careers through guest speakers and campus field trips. You'll connect with university faculty and industry professionals through presentations and Q&A sessions, tour labs to see STEM in action, and discover career paths you might not have considered. It's hands-on exposure to what your future in STEM could look like.
