STEM Mavericks offers a dynamic introduction to STEM, aiming to ignite students' passions and guide them toward exciting, technology-driven careers. It is supported by the Department of Defense (DoD) Digital Futures Initiative through DoD’s Chief Digital AI Office (CDAO).

Overview

STEM Mavericks is a two-week summer camp designed for students in grades 10-12. Students will have access to STEM kits containing all necessary hardware and software during the camp. After the camp, each student will receive their own STEM kit to continue advancing their STEM skills and exploring career pathways in technology. Student stipends for completing the camp may be available pending funding.

    The basics of computers
  • Embedded Engineering
    From programs to hardware, learning how programming affects machines
  • Engineering Projects
    Hands-on innovative projects for students
  • Radio Frequency
    Exploring radio waves in the world around us and interacting with them
  • Artificial Intelligence Demystified
    Building AI models and understanding how AI is created
  • 3D Printing
    Creating parts that make projects functional
  • Cybersecurity
    Staying safe in the digital age
  • Resume Workshop
    Preparing students for real-life applications

Guest Speakers and Field Trips

Throughout the camp, students participate in sessions with guest speakers from various STEM fields and take part in field trips showcasing real-world STEM applications and career opportunities.
